Puppetry is a craft that is always a favourite with children so why not learn to make them yourself? The course will take you through the various stages of puppet creation. Starting with a cardboard frame we will use papier mâché to make the head, hands and feet and body components over the first few weeks and then move on to details like hair, eyes and teeth, outfits and then finally assembly of the puppet and stringing up the marionette. All materials will be provided.
Lesley’s grandmother was a dressmaker and landscape artist and her Nan a milliner. Her whole family was immersed in the arts. She loves to share her passion and pass on skills that she has learned over the years. She has found from experience that a maximum of ten people in a class works well.
